Have We Become Too Dependent On Technology Essay

  • We are not to dependent on technolgy

We are not to dependent on technology because people use their technology and gadgets for lots of useful things such as keeping up with news, emailing people for connecting and working, and having a complete office with you every day. Also we technology can be anything. Cars and Planes are technology. Are we to dependent on cars and planes?

  • Technology is not the problem man.

Technology is not the problem. It is the way that we use it. If we just used it as a tool instead of as a way to escape reality then all is fine. It is the people who sit on their asses playing video games all day that make it seem that way.

  • Technology is the future

If it weren't for technology, I would not be able to post this right now, if it weren't for technology, you wouldn't be able to communicate with friends or family across the globe in seconds, if it weren't for technology, the masses of research going into cancer could not be carried out.
From the wheel to the Iphone 5s, technology has given us some of the greatest inventions of all time, it always has and always will...Technology is the future.

  • No we need it

No, because we the people need technology because without it we all would be dummies and if you look at this page almost all of the paragraph's In the yes column are mostly made by one man or women and yes I agree with the yes people but we really need internet and technology because the dictionaries are to slow nada wast of time.

  • Communicating with Phones in 1 Household!?!

Many people admit they cannot survive one day without gadgets such as phones, laptops and computers, tablets, and more. We are very dependent on technology. We even rely on those gadgets just to entertain us on occasions. Besides all that, technology is ruining the future generations and will spoil the generations after that.

  • Just cause we rely often on technolgy doesnt mean we are dependent

I have heard people say that life is way harder without technology. We know this, but technology was created to make life easier, that is the main purpose. Just cause we might rely on something doesnt mean we can't live without it. Sure it will be harder since we are used to it, but not impossible.

  • Maybe one of out of every ten persons is overly dependent

Technology makes life faster, easier and smarter. If people consuming all sorts of technology are physically fit and have enough skills, then there's no problem at all. Problem is only with those people who become dumb, frustrated, depressed and lose confidence in deprivation of technology; and these kind of people are only 10%.

  • Not they are

The human civilization underwent many changes and developments with the passage of time. Early man lived in caves and forests. They lived on the food available in the forests. Science has blessed mankind with all the basic comforts of life.
What would happen if your computer crashed? What about if you lost your cellphone? If just thinking about these scenarios gives you anxiety, you’re not alone. Most of us rely so much on technology these days that losing it, even for a day, would be extremely inconvenient, and for some, life-altering. So what if you took that technology out of your life for a day voluntarily?
What does if facebook or twitter will not work?
Yes thse are our needs and habit , if you have a habit of getting up early in the morning ,if someones force you to sleep more what you will do oh ya feeling awkward .So thats only cause for it .....................
Technology is good and bad Yes, technology is slowly taking over our social lives and slowly creeping into our relationships and everyday activities. But technology isn't really the problem. It is the people that use it and how they use it that effects the overall negative and positives of technological advances. We as a race today decide on how we use technology and how much that we let it take over our lives. Without technology there would be more bad than good. Yes, it is stopping many kids from physical activities because they are inside watching TV or playing video games which is leading to an increase in obesity and laziness. But without technology how would we be able to communicate easily, prevent diseases make jobs more doable, and to transport items more easily. Just think!!! Prices would be higher because it would require more people and labor to create the things that we need in life that could have been easily done with technology. We as a whole should create a line where technology ends and face to face social communication beginsYes, but the line is hard to draw I know for a fact that when I need to know something my brain instantly jumps to Google. I never have to figure out anything myself if I choose not to. Communication keeps me in contact with everyone. Without it I think society would have some serious issues to deal with. I also believe though that with proper mental training one can rely on technology and still retain good mental health. It's all about how aware you are of your actions.

  • Personally, I didn’t think that people were overly dependent on technology until I saw a photo on Google images. It was a photo of people on a subway station platform. Featured were people standing up and sitting down waiting for the next subway train. Every single person on the picture was looking down at their mobile phone, and the caption on the image said, “2014 Zombies.” This image stuck a cord with me, and suddenly I started to notice just how overly dependent we are on technology.

Now I notice how dependant we are on technology on a daily basis. I saw an episode of South Park a few years ago where the Internet goes down. The episode is called “Over logging” and it shows a world without the Internet. It shows in a comical way about how over dependant we are on the Internet, for everything from news reports to contacting people at work. It exaggerated the point for comic effect, but the fact that people couldn’t find out why the Internet went down because they get their news from the Internet was a very good point.

People use their phone and the Internet these days for everything from paying their bills to finding the nearest gas station. Take away these luxuries and people will have a hard time adjusting back to buying everything from retail outlets and having to go to registered businesses to pay their bills, or worse yet, having to mail a check to the billing companies.

Transport is another example of how we have become overly dependent on technology. People use cars and public transport to get to work. As a result, commercial and industrial sectors are much bigger and residential structures are further away. The availability of transport has pushed housing so far from peoples’ places of work that people are forced to rely on technology such as cars and public transport in order to get to work.

Technology has changed the dynamic in developed world homes. Women are able to work, partially because of the women’s rights movement, and partially because of technology. If it were not for technology, then at least one person would have to stay home to help care for the kids and fix the house, but now we may have a washing machine do all the work so that someone doesn’t have to spend hours hand washing, and a TV and games console means kids do not need watching because they can entertain themselves.

    Conclusion

The use of technology has manufactured our dependence on it. The fact that people use the Internet so much has made communication via the mail and even via the phone a lot less common and it has consequently led to it being used less and less. The overuse of the Internet has made it so that people do not have to go to retail outlets. The use of transportation other than walking a cycling has led to homes being further away from work so that people are forced to use cars or public transport. By using technology, people are having alternative options removed from them. People are forced to use technology because it is popular, ergo alternate methods were removed and choices were limited/restricted. All of this has lead to a dependence on technology.
